Lipo Infralight (Laser Lipo)

A wake up call to legs bums and tums! Lipo infralight (also known as laser lipo) is the latest generation technology in effective treatment of cellulite and body re-shaping!

Lipo Infralight is a painless, effortless process that can successfully target fats and cellulite in problem areas such as: Thighs, Buttocks and Abdomen.  The fats in the cells are broken down and then consumed by stimulated muscular contractions. There are many benefits of Lipo Infralight:
·         Pain free inch loss
·         Immediate results
·         Non-surgical- non invasive
·         No down time
·         Shaping and toning the contours
·         Defining muscle shape
·         Cellulite reduction
·         Soft fat reduction
·         Slimming
·         Fluid retention
·         Poor Circulation
·         Bloating
·         Swollen legs

How does Lipo Infralight work? (The science bit!)

Lipo Infralight is an innovative piece of technology which combines two of the most effective therapies in the treatment of cellulite and body re-shaping. The stunning results and proven effectiveness is the product of the simultaneous use of electrolypolysis and locally applied chromotherapy (infralight).

Electrolypolysis simultaneously causes muscle contraction and immediately burns the fat for energy whilst infralight rays generate heat and stimulates enzyme activity in the fatty tissues, thereby dispersing the fatty acids into the bloodstream to be used as energy.

The key to the fantastic results achieved with the lipo-infralight is a special microprocessor that is able to direct the thermal energy to the areas affected by fatty tissues or cellulite. By aiming the light directly into the fatty tissue, the infrared radiation encourages a biological response, which in turn leads to a recovery in cell function and consequent improvement in the micro-circulation.

How often should I have lipo Infralight?
Having Lipo infra light is a bit like going to the gym, you can’t just go once and expect to see results straight away! A course of 6-12 treatments is recommend in conjunction with a healthy diet and exercise plan. Ideally clients should be coming once or twice a week for best results!

Waxing OR Shaving?

There are many benefits to waxing, hairs will grow back slower and appear softer and finer. Shaving is a great quick fix option for the girl on the go that may not have time to get into the salon for a wax, but hairs will come back prickly, darker and more course. I would highly recommend waxing over shaving, yes it’s more expensive and a little painful but the hassle of not having to shave every other day and the long term results are well worth it!

Benefits to waxing;·        Slower regrowth as it pulls hair from to root.
·        Lasts a lot longer than shaving- you can leave 4-6 weeks in between your waxing appointments.
·        Skin is left feeling soft and smooth for weeks- no prickly, itchy feeling like shaving.
·        If you wax regularly it will eventually reduce hair growth.

Always make sure you go to a recommended salon for waxing and book in with an experienced therapist, the first wax is always the worst so never be put off it will get better! The more you wax the less painful it becomes as the hairs start to weaken and get used to be pulled out from to root. Never be tempted to shave in between your waxing appointments as this will be undoing all your hard work and you will be back to square one!

For best results hairs need to be at least half a centimeter in length and the majority of clients come every 4-6 weeks for their waxing appointments.  I would highly recommend Hot Wax for more sensitive areas such as underarms and bikini this method takes a little more time to do but doesn't pull this skin so much and is far less painful!

Environ Cool Peel

I am pleased to announce that we have now started offering Environ Cool peels at La Belle. These peels are parallel to none in the beauty industry for safeness and effectiveness. Using Lactic acid, Environ cool peels are far less aggressive then other peels on the market and as lactic acid is already found naturally in the body there is a very low risk of an allergic reaction.

Other peels on the market including glycolic peels are made of very small molecules and work their way very quickly into the skin, this disrupts the skins natural barrier and water will easily be lost and environmental toxins can enter the skin more easily. Often with these aggressive types of peels the skin is left red, sore, itchy and swollen with clients having to go into hibernation after the treatment!

Dr Des Fenandes the doctor behind Environ believes in light, repetitive peels instead of one or two heavy aggressive peels that will cause more damage than good to the skin.

There is no redness and no recovery time with the Environ cool peel, so this treatment can easily be done during a lunch break and you could be back at your desk within an hour and no one would know that you have just had a skin peel!

Environ cool peels are made of slightly larger molecules hence slower penetration into the skin, plus it’s in a cream formula so we can easily control where we are applying the lactic acid making it more easy to treat areas such as underneath the eyes.

Environ peels remove the excess top layer of the skin whilst maintaining the water-proofing barrier qualities of the skin. These peels stimulate growth factors which boosts the collagen and elastin production in the skin as well as helping strengthen blood vessels which means these peels are effective for anyone suffering from broken capillaries.

These peels are especially effective at treating scarring, rough textured, sun damage, acne and rosacea.

Clients have to use Environs AVST 1 for at least 3 weeks prior to the treatment to ensure your skin has all the vitamins and antioxidants it needs. A course of 6 peels is recommended for best results as well as the LACM home peel kit.

Single Peel - £60

Course of 6 Peels including the LACM Home Peel Kit - £350

Skinade- Better Skin from Within

Having been a huge fan of vitamin supplements after stocking the Advanced Nutrition programme in my salon I was intrigued to find out more about a new product to hit the market called Skinade. Unlike vitamin supplements, skinade is a simple drink with a cocktail of minerals and vitamins designed to give your better skin from within.
Skinade is a liquid formula as opposed to a capsule or tablet which means the body does not need to break it down as it enters our blood stream straight away and gives higher absorption and bioavailability.

The key ingredient is Hydrolysed marine collagen which is ethnically sourced from marine fish. Collagen is a structural component of the skin and as we loose around 1% of our collagen in our skin a year from around the age of 20 its a great way of replacing the collagen that we are loosing in our skin. Other vitamins found in Skinade include Vitamin C, MSM, B vitamins (vitamin B2, Vitamin B3 and Biotin) Omegas 3 & 6 and L-lysine.

I have been on Skinade for 20 days now and have noticed my skin is much for hydrated, plumper and is also feeling remarkably softer and smoother. I have also noticed that I have more energy from the B vitamins. I keep my Skinade in the fridge and drink one every morning after my breakfast (advisable not to have on a empty stomach) and can honestly say I don't think it tastes bad at all as it has a peach flavouring. It does have a slight after taste which doesn't bother me but if you are not a fan of the taste I would recommend adding it into some fruit juice.

We currently have Skinade on offer for all our clients to try with 20 days supply half the price at just £30 (usually £60). Skinade usually works out to be around £3 a drink which is the same price as a cup of coffee! Skinade is available to purchase in salon or online

Why SPF 15?

At last the beautiful sunny weather we have all been waiting for has arrived! We all know that we need to be wearing an SPF to protect us against UVA/UVB especially when we go out in the sun, but what is the difference between an SPF 15 and an SPF 30 or higher?

We believe that wearing a higher SPF factor will give us more protection from the sun for longer, when sadly this isn’t the case. Research has shown that we are getting a higher risk of skin cancer because we are relying on higher factors of sun cream, thinking that if we have an SPF 30 or higher on that we don’t need to reapply as often and that we are safe from the sun. When in fact you are more likely to burn as you’re not reapplying as often as you should!

An SPF 30 or higher contains higher levels of harmful chemicals such as Organic light-absorbing molecules where it has now been show that UV irradiation turns a number of them into free radicals, thus causing the very thing it’s trying to prevent!

We highly recommend sticking to an SPF 15 and reapplying frequently, we recommend our clients the Environ RAD SPF15 as this can be used on a daily basis and only contains a very small component of organic absorbing molecules, instead Environ RAD contains mostly inert titanium reflectors, and is also loaded with natural antioxidant vitamins that increase sun protection and assist in fighting free radicals.
