My 5 top Tips for Happy Feet!

Spring is in the air! It’s been a long winter hasn’t it? After months of our feet being hidden away in boots and wellie our feet are often looking neglected.

Our feet take a lot of wear and tear, we are on them all day and they carry our weight and get us around so it’s very important to look after your feet.

March is a perfect time to start pampering your feet again so they are ready for flip flop season, hopefully arriving in the next few months!

Here are my top 5 tips for beautiful feet!

  1. 1.      Soak your feet! This can be done in the bath or using a bowl to just soak the feet. (There are also some really fancy foot spas out there if you wanted to treat yourself) I recommend soaking for 10 minutes in warm water, you could add some essential oils in to make it more luxurious if you wanted, I particularly like rose oil for its nourishing benefits. You can push back your cuticles using a hoof stick whilst they are soaking.

  2. 2.      Exfoliate your skin using a foot scrub, work any areas with particularly more build-up of hard skin, usually on the heels of the feet. Next take your feet out of the water and use a pumice stone on any rough areas. Pumice stones always work best when the feet are slightly still damp, always go with the grain of the feet.

  3. 3.      Always trim your toes nails straight across to avoid ingrown toe nails, they should be filled square. Don’t leave them too long as broken and ingrown toe nails are painful! Also be careful not to cut them too short as this can also cause discomfort.

  4. 4.      Moisturise them daily to help with dry, rough or cracked skin. I personally do this just before going to bed so I can let the moisturiser absorb into my feet. If you have cotton socks wear these over your foot cream- your feet will be extra soft and smooth in the morning.  I would recommend Epoch Sole Solution foot treatment as this product also exfoliates dead skin cells build up whilst deeply moisturising the feet.

  5. 5.      Let your feet breathe! Take off your shoes as soon as your get home to let them breathe. If you allow dirt and sweat to stay on your feet longer than necessary you are creating a breeding ground for athlete’s feet and other diseases.  Also I do recommend a break from having your toe nails painted constantly, even if it’s just for a few days, remove your nail polish and apply cuticle oil to your nails to nourish them.

Body Brushing

Give your body an extra boost it needs by body brushing daily!

After eating and drinking too much over the festive season our bodies can feel tired and sluggish and could do with an extra helping hand!

Body brushing for just 5 minutes a day can help stimulate circulation, break down fatty deposits and will help aid lymphatic drainage and detoxification.

The gentle massaging motion of the bristles also has a beneficial effect on areas of cellulite and is an effective way to eliminate toxins from the body.
My top 5 reasons to body brush daily:

·         Removes dry, dead skin cells
·         Skin appears smoother and more nourished
·         Helps combat cellulite and fatty deposits
·         Increases energy and stimulates the body
·         Feels Great!

To get the most of body brushing it’s important to make sure you are doing it correctly. Use firm, sweeping strokes and always body brush in an upward motion towards the heart as this will encourage the return of blood and encourage lymphatic flow.

The whole process should take 3-5 minutes and for best results I would recommend doing it first thing in the morning as the increased blood flow will help wake you up and energise you for the day.

Body brushing is a cheap and effective way to make you feel great and keep your skin looking radiant.

Once you make it a habit, you will wonder what took you so long to start in the first place!

Laser Lipo

Laser Lipo!

Laser Lipo is the latest generation technology in effective treatment of cellulite and body-reshaping!
Laser Lipo is a painless, effortless process that can successfully target fats and cellulite in problem areas such as: Thighs, Buttocks and Abdomen. The fats in the cells are broken down and then consumed by stimulated muscular contractions.

There are many benefits of laser lipo:
·         Pain Free Inch Loss
·         Immediate Results
·         Non-surgical, Non Invasive
·         No down time
·         Shaping and Toning the contours
·         Defining muscle shape
·         Cellulite Reduction
·         Soft fat Reduction
·         Slimming
·         Fluid Retention
·         Poor Circulation
·         Bloating
·         Swollen Legs

How does Laser Lipo work? (The science bit!)
Laser Lipo is an innovative piece of technology which combines two of the most effective therapies in the treatment of cellulite and body re-shaping. The stunning results and proven effectiveness in the product of the simultaneous use of electrolypolysis and locally applied chromotherapy.

Electrolypolysis simulataneously causes muscle contraction and immediately burns the fat for energy which the laser rays generate heat and stimulates enzyme activity In the fatty tissues, thereby dispersing the fatty acids into the bloodstream to be used as energy.

The key to the fantastic results achieved with the laser lipo is a special microprocessor that is able to direct the thermal energy to the areas affected by fatty tissues or cellulite. By aiming the light directly into the fatty tissue, the infrared radiation encourages a biological response, which in turn leads to a recovery in cell function and consequent improvement in the micro-circulation.
How often should I have Laser Lipo?

Having laser lipo is a bit like going to the gym, you can’t go just once and expect to see results straight away, a course of 6-12 sessions is recommended in conjunction with a healthy diet and exercise regime. I recommend having laser lipo 2-3 times a week to begin with and then once a month for maintenance.
